NETWORKING ISN'T WORKING
Sparking from the idea that networking isn't helping build real meaningful connections within our community. Common Thread was created by redesigning the components that make networking challenging and finding our own ways of making it better for everyone, so you walk away feeling happier, more confident and with one real connection every month.
3 Big Changes
1. NO MORE NAMETAGS
Away with nametags that don't stick to anything but your hair. Instead use "Who I Met" Tags to write down the names of the people you talked to.
2. CRAFT LIBRARY
Our craft library will be present in every meeting, allowing you to use provided materials to work on a light activity while you listen to speakers or connect with other attendees.
3. CLOSING MOMENT
At the end of each meeting we will make an announcement to remind you to grab a business card, exchange contacts or plan that coffee meeting. No more walking out without a connection.
Meet The Founders
Mary Jane Myers
Mary Jane is a Marketer, Chattanooga local and UTC graduate. She has a passion for supporting artists and makers with a lifelong dream of creating places where all people can come together to work on their projects. She is an avid crafter of anything from whittling, to 3d printing, fiber arts and more.

Megan M. Caldwell
Megan is a community strengthener, mom and Chattanooga transplant of 3 years. She's done many different things professionally: consulting, running a non-profit, working in tech, selling a company, but the common thread of her life is community involvement. Here in Chattanooga she founded Postpartum Circles, a community for new first time moms (@postpartumcircleschatt), works with the Women's Fund of Greater Chattanooga, gets dirty in the community garden, and works to be a good neighbor.
